Numbers can be shown in different ways. We can count objects, look at pictures arranged in groups, or find a number on a number line.
The same number can be shown by counted objects or by a point on a number line.

- Count the five apples in the first row.
- Count the three apples in the second row.
- 5 and 3 make 8.
- The number line marker also lands on 8.
