Measurement

Volume measures how much three-dimensional space a shape takes up. For a cuboid, volume = length x width x height. The units are cubic units.

Cuboid volume

A 4 by 3 by 2 cuboid has volume 24 cubic units.

  1. Multiply 6 by 4 to get 24.
  2. Multiply 24 by 3 to get 72.
  3. Use cubic units for volume.
  4. So the volume is 72 cubic centimetres.
