Mean uses every value; median is the middle value when sorted; mode is the most common value; range measures spread, not an average.

Minimum, lower quartile (Q1), median, upper quartile (Q3), maximum. A box plot draws all five in one diagram.

- Compare medians to see which data set is typically bigger.
- Compare IQR or range to see which data set is more spread out / consistent.
💡A data set can have no mode, one mode, or several modes -- but it always has exactly one mean, median and range.
