Lesson overview

Number - number and place value

When we count forwards, the number gets one bigger each time. When we count backwards, the number gets one smaller each time. We can start from 0, 1 or any other number.

Worked example

Start at 14 and count forwards.

  1. 14 is our starting number.
  2. One more than 14 is 15.
  3. Keep going one at a time: 16, 17, 18.
